To prevent tunneling, burn until the entire surface of the candle melts - this is especially important for the first burn. Trim wick before each use. Do not leave candle burning unattended. Do not set in a draft. Keep away from children, curtains and pets. To protect the surface on which your candle rests, consider a wood or ceramic plate or pedestal.
Discontinue use once the wax is only about 1/5 of an inch, or the metal wick sustainer becomes visible.
